ARLINGTON, VA – Today, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency announced the reopening of its program in Ecuador to support priority infrastructure projects in the transportation, energy, telecommunications and water sectors, as well as increase export opportunities for U.S. companies. USTDA has not been active in the country since 2005.

“This is the right time to re-engage Ecuador,” said Thomas R. Hardy, USTDA’s Acting Director.  “We look forward to connecting with new partners across Ecuador’s public and private sectors, and believe we can achieve mutually beneficial results.”

Reflecting President Lenín Moreno’s goal to attract significant investment in infrastructure development, USTDA will prioritize transportation, energy, telecommunications and water projects that match the country’s development goals.  USTDA will also pursue new partnerships to advance commercial relations between the United States and Ecuador.
