LEC Investment Forum Shows Private Sector Interest in Philippines Investment Opportunities

Manila, Philippines – A strong turnout of business leaders and investors toured project sites along the Philippines’ Luzon Economic Corridor (LEC), demonstrating growing commercial interest in the region and the U.S. government’s commitment to turning that interest into investment. As part of the Luzon Economic Corridor Investment Forum, more than 100 private sector executives joined senior government officials to tour investment-ready projects in Batangas, Clark and Subic Bay. The three sites were emblematic of the 40 near-term opportunities promoted at the Forum to drive investment in the LEC.

“Private-sector investment is essential to realizing the Luzon Economic Corridor’s potential to strengthen both the Philippines’ economy and global supply chains,” said USTDA Deputy Director Thomas R. Hardy. “By bringing investors directly to projects across the Corridor, we are building partnerships to deliver infrastructure for a free and open Indo-Pacific.”

Batangas: The Philippine Economic Zone Authority hosted delegates to tour selected economic zones and learn about their industrial infrastructure, manufacturing operations and approaches to technology-driven development. Delegates visited LIMA Estate, Light Industry and Science Park III, and First Philippine Industrial Park, where they engaged with leading manufacturers and explored opportunities for new investment.

Clark: The Bases Conversion and Development Authority hosted delegates to explore Clark’s growing infrastructure and industrial ecosystem. Delegates toured New Clark City and Clark International Airport, visited key industrial and infrastructure projects, and engaged with U.S. companies and local partners active in the region.

Subic Bay: The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority hosted delegates to tour key port and logistics facilities within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Delegates met with locators currently active in the freeport zone, heard from Subic Bay International Terminal Corporation, and learned about Subic Bay’s pipeline of port infrastructure projects.

USTDA sponsored the LEC Investment Forum, which was co-hosted by the United States, Japan and the Philippines and convened more than 650 international investors, industry leaders, and senior government officials to accelerate commercial partnerships and mobilize private sector investment across the LEC. The U.S. government made additional commitments to the LEC’s development during the first day of the Forum.
