Regional Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa
Jillian Foerster is a Regional Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). Based out of the U.S. Embassy in Accra, Ghana, Ms. Foerster is responsible for directing business development and managing strategic partnerships in the region on behalf of the agency. She previously served as USTDA’s Country Manager for the West Africa sub-region and also managed the Power Africa portfolio for Southern Africa.
Her prior professional experience includes working with a think tank and consulting firms in Washington, D.C. focused on security, conservation, and private sector development in Africa, as well as two years working as a volunteer with a community development organization in Yei, South Sudan.
Ms. Foerster graduated with honors with an M.A. in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a B.A. from Roanoke College. She is proficient in French and Juba Arabic.
