The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is sponsoring a U.S.- South Africa 5G and Open RAN Virtual Workshop May 23-24, 2022. This workshop will convene public and private sector leaders from the United States and South Africa to identify technologies and solutions that can accelerate and support South Africa’s 5G deployment. Participants will hear about case studies highlighting best practices in RAN and 5G deployment, use cases for 5G communications in vertical domains, regulatory and legal frameworks in 5G development, realizing the potential of 5G by deploying an open 5G ecosystems, as well as cost and policies relating to Open Ran.
