About the Grantee
Poa is an internet service provider that launched in Kenya in 2015. Poa currently has operations in Nairobi with a business model to serve low and middle-income neighborhoods in urban areas that do not receive adequate service from other internet service providers.
Project Background
Due to the vast growth opportunity across the African continent, Kenya-based internet service provider Poa seeks to expand its operations to offer affordable internet access in low-income urban communities in three additional African countries. Poa’s goal is to build infrastructure that can reach one million households over the course of the five-year Project.
About the Study
The objective of the Study is to provide Poa with a market expansion study that would evaluate the conditions for the potential deployment of fixed wireless access infrastructure in Algeria, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Based upon the recommendations from the market expansion study of the aforementioned fourteen countries, the Study would then provide detailed target market analysis for Poa’s proposed expansion into three target markets.
