PRINTPRINT

Background: Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd (“Eskom”) invites interested parties to respond to a Request for Information (RFI) for commercially available or demonstrated single- and multi-pollutant emissions control technologies suitable for coal-fired power plants. Eskom is evaluating options to comply with recently introduced legislation in South Africa that limits particulate and gaseous emissions. Eskom requests information from manufacturers on technologies they have that could meet this need. Technologies of interest include those for the reduction of particulate matter, NOx, SOx, and mercury that can demonstrate reducing the use of water.

This RFI is a stand-alone information-gathering and market-testing exercise, intended only to inform and assist Eskom's further deliberation and development of an emissions reduction strategy. All respondents participate on the basis that they are providing information voluntarily to strengthen a potentially beneficial process for all stakeholders.
