The Grantee invites submission of qualifications and proposal data (collectively referred to as the “Proposal”) from interested U.S. firms that are qualified on the basis of experience and capability to execute a Feasibility Study (“Study”) to assess the economic and technical viability for a cellular network (“Project”) in Namibia (“Host Country”). The Proposal submission deadline is November 25, 2022, 10 a.m. Eastern Time (ET)/5 p.m. Central African Time (CAT). The U.S. firm selected will be paid in U.S. dollar from a $918,500 grant to the Grantee from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.
Project Background
The Grantee intends to deploy a cellular network with data, voice, and text functionality in Namibia.
About the Study
The objective of the Study is to determine an economically and technically viable solution for the cellular network in Namibia. The Study would consider various technology options in the core and access layers of the cellular network, including exploring the viability of utilizing open RAN architecture. The Study would also enable the Grantee to assess and build the business case for the deployment of network infrastructure.
