U.S. - Southern Africa Solar Reverse Trade Mission

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency is sponsoring the second of two Reverse Trade Missions (RTM) to foster U.S.-Southern African partnerships in the implementation of solar power projects in Southern Africa.
The first Reverse Trade Mission occurred in January of 2013 and included delegates representing public sector organizations from South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia. The delegates met with U.S. Government organizations and U.S. companies, touring solar project sites in Las Vegas, NV; Los Angeles and San Francisco, CA; Washington, DC; and Denver, CO.
The second Reverse Trade Mission will take place September 5-13, 2013 and will include delegates representing private sector organizations from Southern Africa. The delegates will meet with U.S. companies and tour solar project sites in Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; San Francisco, CA and Los Angeles, CA.
USTDA, in partnership with the Bay Area Center for International Trade Development will host a U.S.-Southern Africa Solar Opportunities & Finance Roundtable on September 5, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Center for International Trade Development at Skyline College in San Bruno, CA to bring Southern African and U.S. Solar stakeholders together to discuss solar projects and financing programs for future partnerships in solar development in Southern Africa. The agenda will include introductions, a review and discussion of financing programs, and networking opportunities.
