Thailand Civil Nuclear Power Development Reverse Trade Mission
Dates: February 22, 2010 | 8:30am Registration
Location: USTDA Headquarters | Arlington, VA
USTDA is working with the government of Thailand to support potential U.S. commercial opportunities relative to the potential construction of new civil nuclear power plants. To meet expected growth, the Thai Cabinet approved the national Power Development Plan (PDP) calling for civil nuclear power generation in the amount of 1,000MW in 2020 and another 1,000MW in 2021.
On February 22, 2010, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will introduce a senior delegation from Thailand to U.S. businesses with expertise in civil nuclear development, engineering and power plant design and management. The delegation is comprised of leaders from Thailand’s Ministry of Energy, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand and the Ministry of Science and Technology. This Business Briefing will give the delegation an opportunity to present Thailand’s civil nuclear development regulatory framework, energy development plans, and investment opportunities.
The one-day business briefing will allow U.S. private sector experts to:
- Meet with senior decision makers from Thailand who are directly involved in the development of this growing sector.
- Network with U.S. industry and U.S. government stakeholders.
- Learn more about Thailand’s energy needs and plans.
- Learn about USTDA's funding program.
- Participate in one-on-one meetings with delegates.
